The Next Tree of Life Lesson

THE BLACK SPHERE

The black sphere is Sphere Three on the Tree. It is called the Sphere of Belief. . It is also the Sphere of Belief Systems. Our beliefs and belief systems are quite the opposite of our intentions because they restrict and limit what we can do with our lives. We select what intentions and information we can act upon based on our beliefs and belief systems. These things are the only things we can manifest in our lives.

THE PATH OF BELIEF

Like the first two spheres, the Sphere of Belief has several other names:

• Mara or Marah, Mare and Mari - These three words all mean the Great Sea. But the Great Sea is the Subconscious World, the memory of ourselves.
  
  
• Ama and Aima - Ama is the dark sterile mother and Aima is the bright fertile mother. This refers to the feminine or receptive nature of Beliefs as opposed to the masculine outgoing nature of Intentions. Ama is the Mother of Disbelief and Aima is the Mother of Belief. Ama and Aima both allude to the Supernal Mother, the Mother above all other mothers.
  
  
• Binah - The Hebrew name for this sphere, Binah, is most often translated as Understanding. The Sphere of Understanding is where we understand our nature and our nature is to express ourselves based on our beliefs and our disbelieving.
  
  
• Sanctifying Intelligence - The Sanctifying Intelligence is based on faith because faith emanates from this place. Faith is based upon and expresses our beliefs.
  
  
• Parent of Faith - It is also called the Mother of Faith because Faith is the child of Belief. Our faith is an expression of what we believe and don't believe.
  
  
• Mother of All Form and Substance - The ancient teaching of the Kaballah is that the feminine gives form and substance to all things. Lacking belief nothing can take form or have substance.

THE FUNCTION OF THE PATH OF BELIEF

Awareness (Sphere One) is neutral. It is neither masculine nor feminine but it contains both. Intention (Sphere Two) is masculine in nature. Intentions expand in both scope and number. Beliefs are equal and opposite to intentions. Beliefs do not expand. They contract. They do not multiply. They resist expansion and they restrict what we think about about every facet of our lives. This is the feminine attribute, to contain and nourish.

Belief systems are the framework that contain our beliefs. As the feminine contains the growing egg so do belief systems contain our growing beliefs. This is the exact opposite of the masculine. The masculine shoots out millions of sperm for every egg. Masculine intentions multiply and go forth; and most of them die without manifesting.

The Sphere of Belief is the mother of all things because until and unless we believe we can create something in ourselves or in our lives, we cannot. Henry Ford told his engineers that if they believed they could, or if they believed they could not, they were right. His message was that you cannot do what you believe you cannot do. His message was also that if you believed you could, you could.

Just because you believe you can't, you can't. Just because you believe you can doesn't mean you will. But it does mean you have the ability to do anything you believe you can do. You must first have the awareness that you can and the intention to do it. And if you believe you can, then all you have to do is do it.

The ancient teaching concerning this sphere is that it is the root of all things in the physical reality. It is the root of all energy and matter. This means all energy and matter is created because we consciously, subconsciously or unconsciously believe we can do that.

As we continue our study of the Tree of Life we more and more understand that it is also the Tree of Invention and the Tree of Creation. The more we form our own intentions and beliefs, the further we move away from our childhood, our personal Garden of Eden where all was provided for us. We move into the World of Pain and Suffering where we intend and believe we can make a difference.

Lacking this awareness, intention and belief we cannot create our own lives and accomplish the things we came into the physical to do. Once we have this awareness, intention and belief we can create miracles in our lifetime. Once we have this awareness, intention and belief we really can do anything. The only issue then is whether we will selfishly do it for ourselves or spiritually do it for the benefit of all.

THE LAW OF BELIEF

The Law of Belief states that you can create in your life and in yourself only what you consciously, subconsciously and unconsciously believe you can create.

Another way of saying this is that you can create only to the extent that you believe in your ego, soul and spirit that you can create. What you create and what you do not create is a direct result of your awareness, intentions and beliefs. These things are modified by your attentive mind, remembering mind and imaginative mind.

For each lesson concerning the spheres and paths on the Tree of Life there is a reference lesson containing information about how other disciplines interact with the Tree.
